Objectives
FIXED PROSTHODONTICS MODULE (3 ECTS)
To acquire theoretical-practical and practical knowledge/competencies for executing tooth preparation in Fixed Prosthodontics and performing provisional restorations, impressions and cementations.
REMOVABLE PROSTHODONTICS MODULE (3 ECTS)
Learning of general concepts related to the rehabilitation of totally edentulous patients with removable dentures. The student should be able to establish a correct diagnosis and treatment planning for totally edentulous patients.
OCCLUSION MODULE (3 ECTS)
To understand the auxiliary diagnosis methods of temporomandibular disorders, intermaxillary registration, deprograming techniques and vertical dimension of occlusion.
Therapies for temporomandibular disorders. Fabrication and adjustment of an occlusal stabilization appliance.
MATERIALS MODULE (1 ECTS)
Students should develop skills to manipulate materials used in rehabilitation treatments.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students should be able to:
- execute appropriate tooth preparations, temporary restorations and impressions on fixed prostheses;
- establish a diagnosis and plan a clinical case of total removable prosthesis, and produce casts, record bases and wax rims;
- diagnose a patient with temporomandibular disorders and produce an occlusal stabilization splint;
- manipulate different prosthetic materials.

Minimum attendance of 75%. Presentation of works requested by professors
Calculation formula of final grade
Final grade calculated as the weighted average of the marks obtained in each module.
Final grade ≥17 requests oral exam or turns into 16.
Evaluation in supplementary or improvement exams or in other special periods includes a theory exam, a preclinical practical test and an oral exam.
