Objectives
Teaching at UC Clinical Activity aims to protect scientific and clinical knowledge associated with the development of surgical technique, allowing the acquisition of skills for the diagnosis and treatment plan of hard tissue pathologies and tissue diseases.
Development of progressive autonomy in clinical reasoning and ability to make decisions considered to be a patient with periodontal pathology.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course unit the student must:
-Be competent in formulating a comprehensive periodontal diagnosis and treatment plan for patients of all ages and conditions, ensuring its sequence and prioritization of different therapeutic alternatives.
-Be competent in performing supra and sub-gingival debridement using mechanical and manual instrumentation.
-Be aware of the indications and contraindications, principles and techniques of advanced periodontal therapy.
-Be familiar with the different therapeutic alternatives, even in the most complex and multidisciplinary cases.
-Being able to perform simple periodontal surgical procedures.
-Be familiar with oral rehabilitation with implants and peri-implant diseases.
