Objectives

- Ensure adequate knowledge of the best diagnostic and therapeutic procedures from an Evidence-Based Medicine perspective.

- To provide an adequate clinical experience and acquired under the supervision, conveniently prepared for the development of competences that allow to carry out accurately techniques for the prevention and treatment of pathologies and anomalies related to Dental Medicine

- Guarantee skills related to scientific research methodology with data analysis, problem solving and therapeutic planning, as well as communication and presentation of work in multidisciplinary teams.

- Know how to apply knowledge and solve problems in new situations in broad and multidisciplinary contexts.

 - Ability to understand the patient as a whole, as well as the absolute and relative indications and contraindications of the various therapeutic procedures. - Create conditions for lifelong learning in a fundamentally self-oriented or autonomous way.

 

Learning outcomes and competences

The tutorial supervision will allow the student of this course not only to improve his elementary clinical practice, but also the discussion and the necessary guidance and clarification for the resolution of more particular or complex clinical cases. This type of clinical exercise will allow the dental medicine student to develop and develop their clinical skills more quickly and ensure an adequate clinical experience, acquired under competent supervision. It is intended to encourage a scientific mindset that develops independent thinking and critical thinking. All teaching will be carried out according to the criteria of “Evidence-Based Medicine”, allowing therefore not only a current critical analysis of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures taught, but also endowing the student with weapons that will allow him in the future to adapt his practice to the evolution of concepts At the end of the course, the student must acquire not only specific skills in terms of the diagnosis of different oral pathologies, but also in terms of therapeutic planning, with multidisciplinary team work and with scientific research methodology and also a complete mastery of the techniques that allow their treatment and oral rehabilitation. You must be competent in the development of psychomotor skills and aesthetic sensitivity and have knowledge of new technologies. You should be competent to resolve, in clinical practice, autonomously.
