Objectives
Aims, Skills and Learning Outcomes
Provide the following core competencies:
- To develop Knowledge related with removable devices, early treatment, space maintenance or recover in mixed or permanent dentition;
- To insure skills in diagnosis and treatment of agenesis, DDM, serial extractions and enucleating’s;
- To know the control of vertical growth, early chirurgical preparations and the treatment in permanent dentition;
- To be able apply dental protectors
- To be compoetente in clinical orthodontic safety procedures

The general goals of the UC General Orthodontic Aspects IV of the 9th Specialization Course in Orthodontics are:
- To develop Knowledge related with removable devices, early treatment, space maintenance or recover in mixed or permanent dentition;
- To insure skills in diagnosis and treatment of agenesis, DDM, serial extractions and enucleating’s;
- To know the control of vertical growth, early chirurgical preparations and the treatment in permanent dentition;
- To be able apply dental protectors and clinical orthodontic safety procedures

This unit obeys the Rules of the Specialization Course in
Orthodontics and Regulation of the Centre for Continuing Education of
the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Porto. Situations not
covered in these regulations follow the precepts of the rules of
establishment, accreditation and the accreditation of internal
training courses in the area of continuing education of the University
of Porto.
The omitted cases will be decided by head of the University
of Porto taking the recommendation of the course coordinator into consideration
