Objectives


The program contents were defined according to the objectives and skills to be acquired by the students. The syllabus includes the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of the main pathologies of the oral cavity that require surgical treatment, as well as surgical techniques and procedures, so that students are able to diagnose and plan the best surgical treatment for different oral pathologies. At the same time, students will be able to perform clinical and surgical procedures.


 


Learning outcomes and competences


At the end of the course, the student should:


1 - To be qualified for a critical and reflective study in the area of Oral Surgery.


2 - Be able to diagnose, plan and execute integrated rehabilitation treatments.


3 - Master the techniques and skills necessary to perform treatments in the area of Oral Surgery.

Teaching methods and learning activities


Theoretical seminars where theoretical contents in the area of Oral Surgery are addressed, included in the syllabus. Theoretical-practical treatment plan seminars where students will be able to present the clinical cases of patients who consulted in the clinical practical classes of UC Clinical Activity. By analyzing complementary diagnostic tests, photographic records and study models, students debate with the Master's faculty in order to allow an integrated view of rehabilitation treatment. Subsequently, the student presents, in a later class, the final treatment plan that the student proposes for the clinical case with a view to final approval by the Curricular Unit's Regent.
