Objectives
Provide students with knowledge that will enable the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders as well as the differential diagnosis of orofacial disorders with overlapping signs and symptoms.
Provide students with information on the most appropriate methodologies and the means currently available to develop research projects involving the area of diagnosis and / or therapy in dentistry.
Provide students with knowledge that will enable them to better interpret and understand the aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of these particular patient groups, including the differential diagnosis and the different treatment options of dentalmaxillofacial diseases.
Learning outcomes and competences
The theoretical exposure accompanied syllabus of the practical demonstration allows students to recognize the importance of taught subjects. This related exposure to diagnostic methods and therapeutic, since its equation and suitability in different pathologies, accompanied by the practical demonstration either with regard to their selection as well as its implementation, will enable the student to recognize the importance of taught subjects in their future clinical practice.

At the end of the semester, students must submit a written work about one of the subjects taught in classes of the curricular unit Diagnostic and Therapeutics II.
The final mark of this curricular unit will take into account the evaluation of written work (70%) and respective oral presentation (30%).
