Objectives

Acquisition of skills by students in science and basic technique that will enable them for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of some diseases of hard tissues of teeth, as well as for the development of treatment plans based rather complex. Students will enhance their ability to learn technically perform restorative treatments in the pre-clinical area of Operative Dentistry. Students should be able to learn to share with patients the diagnosis and prognosis of their problems in the field of Operative Dentistry and how to perform basic restorative treatments in a clinical setting.

The theoretical exposure accompanied syllabus of the practical demonstration allows students to recognize the importance of taught subjects.

PT	Instrumentos manuais e rotativos em DOP. Elaboração do plano de tratamento em DOP. Tratamentos provisórios em DOP:protocolos de utilização do IRM e dos Ionómeros de Vidro. Adesão dentária.Evoluçãodos sistemas adesivos. Meios auxiliares utilizados nas restauraçõe-Tipos de matrizes e cunhas e suas indicações. Protecção do órgão pulpo-dentinário. Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical classes- Will be taught and supported by Power Point and made available to students.

Theoretical-practical classes of preclinical: To each student is available a work station (with place for adaptation of turbine and micromotor); as well as dental materials and consumable material. Classes will be supported by videos and demonstrations related to their subjects. Each student must have a frasaco with teeth prepared with classes II, IV, V, III, turbine, broach, photopolymerizer, mirror, probe, spatula, burner.  

Clinical practice classes. - Patient care in the last classes of the semester: screening, diagnosis, completion of the chart, treatment plan, simple clinical acts such as provisional treatments and class I restorations

- Two tests of 50 minutes 
Theoric evaluation - Arihtmetic  average  of evaluation of the two tests

1-Evaluation of all restorations performed in a preclinical environment 2-Evaluation of 2 restorations in anterior tooth or posterior tooth 3- Evaluation carried out in the setting of diagnostic and restorative gymnastics 4- mini-test with t / P contents   Theoretical-practical evaluation - Arithmetic mean of the evaluations mentioned above
