Objectives

The aim is to give students the basic knowledge essential to enable the students to assess the normal function of the cranio-cervical-mandibular complex , and to identify and catalog the evidence of present pathology.

On a practical level, classes aim to prepare the student for the correct administration of the examination of the specific clinical area;

Learning outcomes and competences

Students should have skills to:

 - Evaluate the normality of CCCM;

- Identify and understand the pathology that affects the CCCM;

- Carry out a clinical examination correctly and accurately;

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical-pratical classes: exposition of the curriculum, supported by material on the SIGARRA platform;
execution of the tasks referred to in the guidelines previously provided.
Distributed evaluation without final exam
The evaluation will consist of a continuous assessment of students during practical classes and a written test, which will encompass all matter taught in the course unit.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation without final exam

Assessment Components

Designation Weight (%)
Teste 50,00
Trabalho laboratorial 50,00
Total: 100,00

Amount of time allocated to each course unit

Designation Time (hours)
Trabalho laboratorial 27,00

Eligibility for exams

According to the regulations in force.

Theoretical classes
There is no compulsory attendance at lectures

Classes P and TP
The students have to achieve a minimum of 75 % attendance to obtain frequency

There is tolerance of 10 minutes at the beginning of each lesson ( TP and P) from which will place the marking of missing.

Calculation formula of final grade

Evaluation of theoretical component: 50% (minimum score of 9 values in frequency)

Continuous evaluation of the practical component: 50% (minimum score of 9 values)

In order to pass the Curricular Unit in the normal period, the student should have a mean between the evaluation of the theoretical and practical component equal to or greater than 9.5 values.

Rating equal to or higher than 16 will have to be defended in oral exam.

Special season:

Writing Substance Rating: 100% ( minimum score of 9,5 values)

Examinations or Special Assignments

Not required, but the students may conduct a research or review, which may be taken into account in distributed evaluation.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Theoretical 50%(minimum score of 9 values) + Oral 50%(minimum score of 9 values)

For approval to the Course Unit the student should have a mean between the evaluation of the written and oral component equal to or greater than 9.5 values.

Classification improvement

Theoretical evaluation 50%(minimum score of 9 values)
Oral evaluation 50% (minimum score of 9 values)

For approval to the Course Unit the student should have a mean between the evaluation of the written and oral component equal to or greater than 9.5 values.
