- Be competent to provide an independent clinical experience in patients, acquired under faculty supervision, particularly in simpler treatments of Fixed Prosthodontics (inlays, crowns and short span bridges, ceramic or metal-ceramic, on teeth and implant); Removable dentures (partial and full dentures, acrylic and skeletal, and simple toothsupported  overdentures); Occlusion and Orofacial Pain (occlusal splints)

- Psychomotor skills and aesthetic sensibility.

Working method

Presencial

Program

Practical classes (8h week) to patients, which comprise:

- Clinical history and examination of the patient.

- Study of clinical cases (with the teacher, in their class and in the presence of the patient, and in the next week, without the presence of the patient). Teaching methods and learning activities

The programmatic content fits to the defined objectives. Making the consultation  under faculty supervision the student will investigate all cognitive, technical and affective abilities, and apply their knowledge in an integrated way, regarding the psychological relationship, to current knowledge needed to uni or multidisciplinary planning, the field of specific surgical techniques, the choice of materials and techniques, the aesthetic aspects and the color choice, the relationship with dental technician and the need for support from other disciplines.

The monthly group discussions are used to facilitate the development of independent decision-making in the diagnosis, planning and execution of the treatment, and integration with theoretical knowledge.

These aspects should be treated in mandatorybpatient report which requires research and use of scientific information critically.

Clinical cases treated can still be addressed in scientific articles that can be performed in others UCs.
