Objectives
Familiarize students with laboratory techniques of dental prosthesis.
Apply New Technologies to laboratory techniques of dental prosthesis, particularly in fixed prosthesis.
Learning outcomes and competences
As a result of learning, students must be competent in understanding the different steps of the laboratory technique for removable partial denture, complete denture and fixed prothesis, and in the application of new technologies to laboratory techniques of dental prosthesis.

Health promotion, prevention of diseases including infection control.
Understand the laboratory requirements and show effective communication with laboratory technicians.
- in removable partial denture: steps for making a removable partial denture; use of surveyor; laboratory technique for removable partial dentures frame; repairs; additions of teeth; additions of other components; relyning and rebasing.
- in complete dentures: steps for making a complete denture - presentation of different methodologies; repairs; rebasing.
- in fixed prosthesis: steps for making various items of fixed prosthesis - crowns, bridges, veneers, waxing, casting, ceramics. New technologies in the laboratory techniques of Fixed Prosthodontics (ex: CAD-CAM).
