Objectives

The contents were defined in terms of objectives and skills to be acquired by students. The contents include the aetiology, diagnosis and treatment of major disorders of the oral cavity requiring surgical treatment as well as the techniques and surgical procedures, so that students are able to diagnose and plan the best surgical treatment for different oral pathologies. At the same time, students will be able to perform clinical and surgical procedures.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of UC, the student must:

1 - Is capable of a critical and reflective study in the field of Oral Surgery.

2 - Being able to diagnose, plan and execute integrated rehabilitation treatments.

3 - Master the techniques and skills needed to perform treatments in Oral Surgery area.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical seminars which will consider theoretical contents of Oral Surgery area listed in the syllabus.

Theoretical and practical seminars treatment plan where students will perform the presentation of clinical cases of patients who consulted students in practical classes at UC Activity Clinic. Upon analysis of complementary diagnostic tests, the photographic records and study models, students discuss with the professors of the Master to enable an integrated view of rehabilitation treatment. Later, the student presents at a later lesson, the final treatment plan that the student proposes to a case with a view to final approval by the Course Conductor.

Calculation formula of final grade

Evaluation is distributed with final exam (90%), based on the presentation and discussion of clinical cases in the TP classes and attendance (10%).
