Objectives
The general objectives of the Curricular Unit for the Treatment of Clinical Cases VI of the Specialization Course in Orthodontics are to provide the following fundamental skills:
- Know how to analyze the opportunity for orthodontic treatment and develop optional treatment plans and respective prognosis;
- To provide an adequate clinical experience and acquired under a supervision properly prepared for the development of skills that allow to carry out with precision techniques of prevention and treatment of pathologies and oral anomalies related to the science of orthodontics;
- Create the conditions for students to demonstrate and value behavior that allows a positive and appropriate relationship with patients, colleagues and society in general;
- Development of skills essential to performance in the clinical practice of independent and autonomous orthodontics.
Learning outcomes and competences
It is intended that the student:
- Know how to analyze the opportunity for orthodontic treatment and develop optional treatment plans and respective prognosis;
- Has developed an adequate clinical experience and acquired under a supervision properly prepared for the development of skills that allow to carry out accurately techniques for the prevention and treatment of pathologies and oral anomalies related to the science of orthodontics;
- Demonstrate and value behavior that allows a positive and appropriate relationship with patients, colleagues and society in general.
- Has increased the skills necessary for performance in the clinical practice of independent and autonomous orthodontics.

Calculation formula of final grade
- Attendance x 10% x laboratorial work + 20% Final exam 70%
- The final classification will be expressed in numerical scale from 0 to 20.
- It is approved the student whose final grade evaluation is equal to or above 10.
