Objectives

The student must be able to present research and synthetic overview of some issues related to research in the field of Periodontology, getting ready to prepare a research protocol and in the end of the semester should carry out a systematic revision of a periodontology theme.

the student should master the concepts of the relationship periodontal disease/periodontal treatment and smoking and brief intervention for smoking cessation and be familiar with the concepts of intensive intervention on smoking cessation.

Learning outcomes and competences

The contents programmatic includes concepts considered as fundamental in periodontics research and periodontal treatment of smokers patients and whose knowledge is mandatory to achieve the various learning objectives.
The presentation of research and brief summary of the topics of the syllabus conducted by student accompanied his discussion with the teachers enables the student to achieve the learning objectives of the course.

Teaching methods and learning activities

All classes must be previously prepared by the students and the day of class will provide an overview on the subject of class with due relevant literature.

In the last class should deliver a systematic review ready for submission to a journal.
