Objectives

To provide students with knowledge that will enable them to better interpret and understand the aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment in Dentistry, including differential diagnosis and different treatment options.

To provide students with information on the most appropriate methodologies and the means currently available to develop research projects involving the area of Diagnosis and / or Therapeutic in Dentistry.


To develop ability argumentation and skills of critical reflection on the research process.

To improve students' science communication skills, both oral and written.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students should be able to analyze and understand the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Process in Dentistry, in its relationship with scientific research.

It is expected that students enhance their argumentation skills, as well as their critical thinking. Science communication, both oral and written, should be also improved.

Teaching methods and learning activities

All modules will be taught in the Seminar typology, in an interactive format, which include the teaching of theoretical concepts, with examples of the various tasks and respective practical activity.

The evaluation will be distributed without a final exam, based on active participation in the seminars and the evaluation of the various projects carried out during the semester.
