Objectives
The aim of the Course of Occlusion, TMJ and Orofacial Pain II is to give students the basic knowledge to enable them in the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders and their treatment, as well as the differential diagnosis of other diseases with overlapping signs and symptoms.
Students must develop skills to plan a semi-adjustable articulator and fabricate a stabilization occlusal splint.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Teaching of the Course of Occlusion, TMJ and Orofacial Pain II is split into interactive theoretical and practical lessons. These lessons, using the media, pretend, as intended,to transmit information, facilitate understanding and interpretation of literature and kindle motivation.

Eligibility for exams
The frequency at Occlusion, TMJ and Orofacial Pain is achieved by:
- presence in 75% of classes;
- completion of two (2) written tests (on dates to be arranged with students);
- Laboratory work: assembling individualized models in semi-adjustable articulator + fabrication of occlusal stabilization splint;
- Weekly reports of activity in laboratory classes (submitted to Moodle);
Students covered by special laws that dispense with the presence in the classroom, will undertake a written test and an oral test, where the skills will be evaluated for approval to the Course.
Calculation formula of final grade
Continuous assessment - 45% (laboratory work, weekly reports)
Discontinuous rating - 45% (written test - minimum score: 7.0 points)
Attendance - 10%
Examinations or Special Assignments
Not being mandatory, students who wish to, can do research work within the curriculum, which will be considered in discontinuous rating.

Observations
Weekly reports: should the procedures carried out in the lessons of laboratory work, properly sequenced, described and documented photographically (minimum quality). These reports should be submitted to Moodle (in proper format) until 00.00 the following day's practice session.
Optional research papers: they must take the form of a scientific paper, poster or free communication.
