Objectives

Purpose
Skill in diagnosing inflamatory lesions of the pulp, necrosis and gangrene, as well as traumatic and periapical lesions, through clinical cases; the student must be able to choose the most appropriate treatment, given to the circunstances of the patient (dental, cultural, economic) and with the agreement of the teacher, be able, to monitor and perform under his supervision.
He should be able to perform the endodontic treatment in single root teeth with only one root canal or exceptionally with two root canals.

Program

Program
The pupils perform the endodontic treatment in patients and in molar teeth ex-vivo.
The treatments are performed in the faculty clinic.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Methodology
Students are divided in groups, monitored by a professor.
From each work the students write a report that is corrected by the professor and reviewed in the presence of the student.
