Objectives

- Diagnose periodontal diseases
- Develop plans for periodontal treatment
- Perform non-surgical treatments
- Know ways to control local and systemic chemical periodontal disease
- To establish possible relationships between some systemic conditions and environmental / behavioral and periodontal disease

- Diagnosis of periodontal disease in terms of clinical, radiological, microbiological, biochemical, immunological and genetic
- Plan of periodontal treatment
- Non-surgical treatment
- Principles of instrumentation in periodontics and mechanical control of biofilm
- Halitosis
- Ways to control local and systemic chemical periodontal disease
- Influence of periodontal disease during pregnancy and cardiovascular disease
- Influence of tobacco in periodontal and periodontal treatment and smoking cessation
- Clinical characteristics of periodontitis in diabetic patients. Influence of periodontal disease in diabetes and immunosuppressed patients.
- Aging and the periodontium
