Objectives
Theoretical:
The purpose of the Course of Occlusion, TMJ and Orofacial Pain I is to give students the basic knowledge essential to enable them to assess the normality of function of the cranio-cervico-mandibular complex as well as indications of pathology.
Practical:
The purpose of practical classes of the Course of Occlusion, TMJ and Orofacial Pain I is to give students a first contact with the specific clinical examination of the Unit, including muscle and joint palpation. Furthermore, the intention is to acquire practical skills in mounting study models in semi-adjustable articulator, as well as individualization.

-A study of temporomandibular joint; TMJ imagiology
-Occlusal pathophysiology
-Intermaxillary relations
-Study of mandibular movements
-Study of mastication and swallowing
-Temporomandibular Disorders:
--Epidemiology and etiology of TMD;
--TMD of muscular origin;
--TMD of joint origin:

--- Disk-related DTM
--- DTM of inflammatory origin
