Objectives

• Aquire new contents regarding basic concepts of human immunology.
• Lear the basic mechanisms of the immune response regarding endogenous and exogenous aggresions.
• Learn the main pahtologies associated with immune system deficiencies.
• Identify and learn the main therapeutic approaches regarding immune-based diseases.
• Aquire new research and laboratorial skils regarding applied immunology contents.

Program

1. Immunological reaction. Adaptive and innate response.
2. The Immune system – structure and functional organization.
3. B cells – ontogeny and antibody production.
4. Antibodies – structure, biological activity and genetic base of their diversity.
5. T cells – ontogeny and priming.
6. Antigens and antigenic processing.
7. The major histocompatibility complex and its functions.
8. Immunological tolerance.
9. Efector mechanisms and amplification of the immune response / cytokines and chemokines.
10. Inflamation and cellular recruitment.
11. Regulation of the immune response.
