Cycles of Study/Courses
Objectives
It is intended to provide students with the ability to:
- know the anatomy of the oro-maxilo-facial area
- establish an empathic dialogue with the patient
- observe a patient
- draw a diagnoses and propose a treatment plan
- provide a patient with anaesthesia so as to proceed to dental medicine treatment
- provide dental medicine treatment where the patient has been submitted to general anaesthesia
- know and use asepsis and antisepsis techniques
- carry out tooth removals
- conduct surgery of lesions in the soft tissues
- extract fragments and interpret anatomo-pathologic results
- perform endodontic, orthodontic and tumour surgery, as well as dental inclusions.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Continuing assessment: the student should be able to learn how to critically manage information, thus participating actively in the resolution of several problems arising, in cooperation with the teaching staff responsible.
