Objectives

Theoretical/practical training in dummies aiming at performing dental preparations, provisional restorations, imprerssions and cementing according to the knowledge acquired last year.

Program

Theoretical classes:
The PrepAssistant (Kavo).
Dental impressions.
Bite registration, articulator and final proof of the restoration.
Dental luting cements.

Theoretical and pratical classes:
Operating technique of the different dental preparations:
Total crowns in posterior teeth.
Total crowns in anterior teeth.
Imediate post and core.
Ceramic veneers.
Provisional restorations (with impression before tooth preparation and with provisional Richmond crown). Impressions.
Cementation.

Practical Classes:
Operating technique of the different dental preparations: Total crowns in posterior teeth (ceramic and metal-ceramic).
Total crowns in anterior teeth (ceramic).
Endodontically treated teeth (imediate post and core, radicular impression and provisional Richmond).
Preparation of ceramic inlay (impression of one prepared quadrant).
Ceramic veneers in anterior maxillary teeth (temporary restorations and provisional cementation).

Teaching methods and learning activities

Practical training on dummies, on each type of dental preparation; this training will be carried out under the supervision of a teacher.
Each type of preparation follows a practical demonstration on dummies by one of the teachers of the course unit.
Possibility of compare the pupil tooth preparation with the teacher one using the PrepAssistant (Kavo).

Distributed evaluation without final exam
