Objectives
Students are expected to be able to:
1-Know the anatomy of the oro-maxilo-facial area.
2-Establish an empathic dialogue with the patient.
3-Observe a patient.
4-Draw a diagnosis and propose a treatment plan.
5-Provide a patient with anaesthesia so as to proceed to dental medicine treatment.
6-Perform Dentistry jobs having the patient under the effects of general anaesthesia.
7-Know and use asepsis and antisepsis techniques.
8-Carry out tooth removals.
9-Conduct surgery of lesions in the soft tissues.
10-Perform pre-prothetic plastic surgery.
11-Extract fragments and interpret anatomo-pathologic results.
12-Know and use other surgical techniques such as: cryosurgery, electrosurgery, laser and plasma.
Program
·Anatomical review of the of the oro-maxilo-facial area.
·Clinical examination. Cervico-facial exam. Endobuccal examination. Pre-operative medical exam. Biopsy. Histological exam. Biochemical exam.
·Local anaesthesia. Anaesthesia techniques used for upper jaw bone and lower jaw bone.
·General anaesthesia.
·Surgical technique.
·Surgical equipment.
·Asepsis and antisepsis.
·Removal of teeth from the arcade: upper and lower jaw bones.
·Removal of teeth of haemophilic and hypocoagulated patients without interrupting their treatment.
·Oral surgery of cervico-facial irradiated.
