Objectives
Teaching of theoretical and eventually theoretical-practical principles, so that students acquire the ability to understand and later implement fixed prosthodontics (inlays, crowns and bridges).
Program
Introduction to the discipline of Fixed Prosthodontics. Prosthetic options. Types of restoration.
General principles of dental preparations.
Set of rotary instruments.
Surgical technique of different dental preparations.
Restoration of endodontically and seriously injured teeth
Ceramic and metal-ceramic fixed partial dentures.
Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
Dental implants restorations
Metallic alloys and ceramics used for fixed dentures.
Temporary restorations.
Gingival retraction.
Impressions
Intermaxillary records

Theoretical classes supported by the presentation of slides (datashow) and videos.
Evaluation Type
Eligibility for exams
Students shall get a pass grade when they have an average of 9.5 points or above. Each test can`t be less than 6,5 val.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final grade is calculated taking into account the average of the two grades.
It`s necessary to have an average of 9.5 points or above. Each test can`t be less than 6,5 val.
Students with a grade of 17 points or above have to sit an oral exam to justify their grade. In the case of fault to this oral exam, final classification will be 16 val, according to Faculty regulation.
Optionally, students (indivudually or in pairs) may do a cientific paper. This work may have an extra-classifiation to a maximum of 2 val.
