Objectives
This course aims to make students aware of how Greek culture became the matrix of Western culture. To this end, the works of Homer and Hesiod will be studied and the birth and evolution of the Tragedy analyzed. The importance of Classical culture in understanding the History of Art will also be studied.

3. Attica and Athens according to Pansanias
4. The Homeric poems - reality and fiction: a contribution to their analysis
5. Hesiod: Works and Days; The Theogony
6. Greek mythology: gods and heroes
7. Sanctuaries: the sacred and the artistic
8. The Tragedy and its origins: Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides and their vision of Man
9. The Comedy and Aristophanes: the change of times
10. The Apollonian spirit and the Dionysian spirit: their expression in art
