Objectives

1. To critically assess available teaching materials.


2. To adapt and produce teaching materials that are suitable for developing different skills.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the semester students should be able to critically assess available teaching materials and adapt it,  and to produce their own teaching material suitable for developing different skills.

1. Critical analysis of existing didactic materials for teaching Portuguese as Mother Tongue, especially school textbooks;


2. Document analysis to explore in Native language classes:


- Original documents vs. manipulated documents


- Oral documents;


-Written documents;


- Audiovisual aids;


- Internet.


3. Manipulation and production of various documents.


4. Producing materials suitable for developing skills:


- Listening comprehension and oral production;


- Reading;


- Writing;


- Grammatics;

- Literary Education.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Project-based learning in order to the construction of teaching material, taking into account the reference documents for the teaching of Portuguese. Classes are collaborative and practical (group work, oral presentations, discussion of results and tutorial sessions).
