Program
Translation projects carried out by translation teams using CAT tools: different kinds of translation (summary, post-editing, partial translation, and full-text translation) of scientific and technical documents relating to a specific topic. Texts will be analyzed in different categories (collocations, phraseology, terminology, structure, style and register) and translated in form of a translation project, from quotation to final delivery of the translation product and invoice to the client, through analysis of the necessary documentation, allocation of translation tasks, selection of the most appropriate tools to pursue the project, terminology research, etc.
Individual project work: translation of a scientific paper or a technical text including quotation, terminology database, translation memory, and invoice.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Depending on class size, students will be divided into groups of 3 or 4 and will form their own Translation Companies. Each company will be responsible for (1) creating their own image (through a webpage); (2) deciding on each partner’s specific responsibilities (project management, translation, revision, quality control, etc.); (3) managing each translation job in a professional manner (all steps from pre- to post-translation). Feedback will be provided on each job, which will have to be revised following the comments and suggestions received.
Each student will translate a scientific paper or a technical text in a field of his/her choice. This individual project work will consist of quotation, terminology and phraseology database, translated document, and translation memory.
