Objectives

 

The goals of this course lead to the acquisition by students of analysis skills and evaluation of teaching materials, giving them valid instruments for such, and allowing applications in specific contexts of teaching and learning.

Learning outcomes and competences

 

At the end of the course students should be able to:

a) analyse teaching materials, using a sustained theoretical grid of analysis;

b) choose and / or adapt teaching materials according to the situation of teaching and learning;

c) produce supplementary materials, taking into account specific factors (level, group, context and learning purposes).

Lectures, seminars and tutorials (analysing, discussing and producing teaching materials). Active student participation will be regarded as fundamental for an adequate fulfillment of the course's goals.

Attending 75% of classes, unless established otherwise by law.

Calculation formula of final grade

The evaluation will consider active participation in the sessions and in the Moodle platform (30%), a written analysis of a teaching material (35%) and a production of a teaching material (35%).
Nota bene: For a successful evaluation in the course unit, the student can not have a rating lower than 9 in the written evaluation components and the average of the two components should be positive.

Classification improvement

The assessment component to be considered for the purpose of improving the classification should be one of the written assessment component (to be chosen by the student).
