Objectives

- To access a diversified version about Portuguese history in the 19th and 20th centuries; - To contact diversified sources about the historical knowledge of this period; - To encourage research and individual work; - To provide complementary bibliography matching professional and individual interests; - To foster oral participation, by the share of individual interests or by providing texts for discussion;

Learning outcomes and competences


- To understand the supporting sources of production of scientific knowledge in Portuguese contemporary history

- To master the contents that allows a contextual hermeneutics of sources, according to the historical periods

- To distinguish the most appropriate methodologies and didactics according to the different periods of Portuguese contemporary history

- To allow synchronic analysis with the European and world history

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

 

- Mastering of structural knowledge of the former time periods – medieval and modern.

- Perception of what is happening in contemporary times in Europe and the World
