Objectives

This course unit intends to outline a political, economic, and and social panorama of Germany in the contemporary era.

By the end of the semester the students who passed the evaluation components will know which events and personalities were most relevant in the History of Federal Republic of Germany in the second half of the XX century and at the turn into the XXI century. Such wide and multisided knowledge will enable the students to a critical perspective and a contextualizing approach to the human facts.

Learning outcomes and competences

 

 Through a systematic study of the phenomena and of the political, economic and social contexts that characterize the history of Germany in the in the second half of the XX century and at the turn into the XXI century, the students will get a detailed, rigorous and multifaceted knowledge of the contemporary Germany.
