Objectives

By the end of this first master level, students should be able to: a) understand and interpret all kinds of documents (written, oral and media) ; b) write properly coherent and efficient texts ; c) interact in oral and written contexts, d) produce a logical and clear speech ; e) create and investigate a corpus to get a better understanding of some aspect of the French language. They should have f) enlarged their learning skills using several tools ; g) consolidated intercultural and French speaking world knowlwlege and know-how.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students are expected to be competent (written and oral discourse) according to ERF criteria.

Program

1. Linguistic aspects seen during the first semester will be reviewed (language registers, denotation and connotation, collocations and idioms, modals, cohesion and coherence);

2. Specific exercises on persisting difficulties at lexical and syntactic level;

3. Written, oral and multimedia authentic documents comprehension;

4. Production of argumentative texts;

5. Text rewriting;

6. Debates;

7. Individual project / specific French social topic after research with a view to an oral and written presentation.
