Objectives

Successful students will: • understand French language as a system ruled by universal principles and particular parameters; • improve their formal knowledge of lexical, syntactic and textual aspects of the French language; • use critical thinking about French language aspects, analyze them and describe them using appropriate metalanguage; • learn how to use the standard reference material for the study of French linguistics: grammars, dictionaries, electronic corpora, and on-line reference material.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students will have acquired a reflexive and scientific approah on many components of French language and be able to describe them in an appropriate discourse.
