1. Introduce and identify key moments in French literature in the 20th and 21st centuries 2. Examine and recognise socio-cultural contexts and textual changes in literary discourses and their critical reception. 3. Develop the practice of text analysis, integrating and relating knowledge.
- Knowledge about major changes in contemporary French literature;
- Ability to interpretative analysis of literary texts, realizing their expressive potential and training;
- Development of skills in reading and writing in the context of the French language and also the Portuguese language, with some attempts in literary translation.
1.In the transition from centuries and under the sign of War : "avant gardes"at the beginning of the 20th century and their legacies. (Apollinaire, Surrealism, Boris Vian); 2. The tradition of humanist literature ( Albert Camus and Marguerite Yourcenar) 3. Literature under suspicion and her relations with cinema ( Nathalie Sarraute et Marguerite Yourcenar) 4. Decentralised imaginaries ( Tahar Ben Jelloun et Jean-Marie le Clézio)
