Objectives

Students should develop competences related to the:
- development, organization and work programming on field and study visits;
- preparation of reports about the work on field and study visits;
- communication techniques for presentation of the results of the work done on field and study visits;
the application of knowledge, methods and geographical research techniques learned during the course;
Development of competences related with the landscape reading;
interpersonal relationships and teamwork dynamics.

Program

Thematic unit Units referring to landscapes
1. Natural aspects: climate, relief, soil and vegetation;
2. Human aspects: Cities, rural landscapes, and cultural spaces;
3. Geographical readings at a regional and local level.

Methodological unit: Preparation of study visits and application of knowledge
1. Preparation of study visits (organization, accomplishment and assessment);
2. Orientation techniques (use of maps and various instruments);
3. Information collecting (functional gathering; questionnaires/interviews, etc.)
4. Landscape reading and interpretation (bibliography, methods, etc.)
