Visiting/freemover students are all undergraduate, master's or doctoral students who intend to undertake a period of study or research at FLUP that are not covered by a partnership under the Erasmus+ programme or a cooperation agreement (or similar programme), for a maximum period of one academic year.

Academic requirements

  • The interested students must be officially enrolled in a study cycle at their home institution.
  • The mobility has to be approved by the home higher education institution, with the signature of a study or research plan.
  • All visiting/freemover students may enrol in course units (UC) up to a maximum of 30 ECTS per semester) of the study cycle they are enrolled in.
  • Students who intend to carry out research in the context of their master's or doctoral studies must obtain prior acceptance by a supervisor at the institution where they intend to carry out their mobility.

Applicable fees

Visiting students at FLUP are subject to the payment of academic fees, which may vary depending on the study cycle and subjects chosen, as well as on their status as European Union students, international students or CPLP international students.

More information on the academic fees in force can be consulted on the Academic Portal of FLUP.

Visiting students are charged the fees according to the number of ECTS credits they select, as stipulated in the Academic Portal above.

 Application Procedures

The application procedures are the same as for students under mobility agreements and programmes, which can be consulted here.

At the end of the mobility, the student will receive, in the case of mobility for studies, a transcript of records with the results obtained in order to obtain academic recognition at the home institution.

In the case of an internship or research mobility, the student will receive a qualitative report from the supervisor appointed for this purpose at FLUP.
