What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also:

  • Supports the European Pillar of Social Rights
  • Implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027
  • Develops the European dimension in sport

Who can take part?

Erasmus+ is open to many individuals and organisations, although eligibility varies from one action to another and from one country to another.

For students in particular, studying abroad is a central part of Erasmus+ and has been shown to have a positive effect on later job prospects. It is also a chance to improve language skills, gain self-confidence and independence and immerse yourself in a new culture. Find out more here.

What are the advantages of Erasmus+ mobility?

  • A rewarding and enriching experience at academic and personal level
  • Contact with new working methods
  • Improving foreign languages
  • Broadening your horizons
  • Knowledge of other cultures
  • Professional added value
  • Academic recognition (with prior agreement between the institutions)
  • Exemption of tuition fees at the host university

Application Procedures

The procedures are the same as for all students under mobility/exchange agreements and programmes, and Incoming students can consult the information at:

At the end of the mobility, the student will receive, in the case of mobility for studies, a transcript of records with the results obtained in order to proceed to obtain academic recognition in the home institution.

In the case of an internship or research mobility, the student will receive a qualitative report from the supervisor appointed for this purpose at FLUP.
