
The Recognition of foreign degrees and diplomas has been in force since 1 January, 2019, as per Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August and Decree no. 43/2020 of 14 February, the latter as an amendment to Decree no. 33/2019 of 25 January.
How to make a request?
- The request for recognition is to be submitted in the national platform RecON, by way of a form made available by the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES), alongside other documents in digital format.
- The request is subject to payment of a fee.
- Upon payment, U.Porto shall analyse the request and start a proceeding. This proceeding will then be carried out by the respective intended Faculty.

- Automatic recognition;
- Precedence-based recognition;
- Before paying the fees due.
