FLUP’s mentoring programme is part of the University of Porto’s Transversal Peer Mentoring Programme. Recognizing the importance and potential of peer relationships in students’ positive integration, this programme gives new students the possibility of relying on the voluntary availability of colleagues that have attended FLUP longer to help with their inclusion process, encourage them to experience higher education in a healthy and democratic way, and work in a networking and solidary environment. SEE: https://up.pt/mentoriaup/.

Mission:

  • contribute to the welcoming, guidance, full and dignified integration of new students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP), reducing the difficulties emerging from geographical, school, personal and cultural displacement;
  • create and develop interpersonal relationships with students (national and international) who attend, for the first time, any cycle of FLUP studies and who voluntarily want to participate in the mentoring programme;
  • respect the principles of responsibility and ethics in accordance with the Charter of Peer Mentoring/Tutoring of the University of Porto’s Transversal Peer Mentoring Programme.
