The cycle of studies conducive to the Master’s degree in Philosophy Teaching in Secondary education is a 2nd cycle course which seeks the acquisition of the necessary scientific and pedagogical competences for teaching. It provides professional qualifications for teaching in secondary education in Philosophy, as well as access to a knowledge and competences assessment test, in order to be able to teach (in terms of Decree no. 3/2008, January 21st).
The Master’s degree is four semesters-long (120 ECTS).

The different training components of the Master’s degree seek:
Students may sign up for the Initiation to Professional Practice only after having been approved in subjects Philosophy Didactics I and II
Number of vacancies: 15
120 ECTS in Philosophy. The student may still apply as long as he/she has a graduate degree and 90 ECTS in Philosophy, being able to complete the remaining 30 ECTS (=5 subjects) while attending the Master’s degree.
Accomplishment of a Portuguese written test and interview.
