Teaching methods and learning activities

There are several teaching methodologies. Theorical-practical sessions – lecturing and discussion with students in the classroom about the topics of syllabus with the use of demonstrative examples.
Tutorial sessions - presentation and discussion by students, organized in small groups, texts and case studies previously selected and appointed by the teacher.
Another activities - support students in research information and literature; supervision of individual work.
The teacher publishes in SIGARRA / FLUP a developed summary for each topic of the syllabus with specific indications about the contents and bibliography.
In SIGARRA / FLUP is available bibliography of some of the required reading.

Eligibility for exams

 Written and oral exam, if required. Individual thematic written report. Class attendance and work developed in tutorial supervision sessions. Students are required to complete all assessment components, regardless of student status.
All evaluation components are mandatory. The approval of the course unit requires that the marks obtained in the written exam, and oral if necessary, and in the individual written report are equal to or greater 10

Calculation formula of final grade

Weighting of each assessment component towards the final mark for the course unit:  Written and oral exam, if required - 50%; Individual thematic written report - 35%;work developed in tutorial supervision sessions - 15%; attendance (theoretical-practical classes and tutorial supervision sessions) - 10%. 


The resource period includes performing a new final exam, and oral if necessary (50% final grade), and / or a new individual writing (25% of the final grade) report, on a date to deliver stipulated by the teacher . For approval to the course, the classification of each of these evaluation components must be less than 10. To calculate the final classification keeps the classification concerning the work developed in the tutorial sessions and attendance.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students who are legally exempt from class attendance are required to contact the lecturer as soon as classes start in order to establish the corresponding assessment procedures.

Classification improvement

The student may require improvement of classification according to the Faculty Evaluation Standards. Improving classification focuses only in the final exam and report. In the case of this, the content evaluation will always be different from those included in the individual written report previously made. They will be considered for the calculation of the final grade, the grades obtained in the other components. It keeps the weighting given to each of these components of assessment and the conditions for approving the course.
