Objectives

This discipline has a strong practical and technological component and aims to validate, in practice, the assumption listed in previous subjects. It also aims to introduce and strengthen/reinforce concepts, techniques and tools required in the field of photography. The subject will be divided in two modules: a historical, technical and conceptual module and a field work, treatment, analysis and publication module.

Learning outcomes and competences

The obtained formation will provide the domain of tools, concepts and methodologies necessary to students' future professional practice.

The contents of Fotojornalismo have the historical, technical and conceptual dimension as the main reference on its informative and journalistic aspect: social, political, sportive, cultural, detective, traveler, etc. During the learning process concepts and techniques will be taught in order to produce thematic photos and to built the final project.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Classroom - Lecture: Theoretical approach, case studies, discussion and viewing of examples. Theory / Practice - Laboratory Practice: Exercises and practical laboratory work and supervised group. Tutorial - theoretical classes support and the development of the final portfolio.

 Individual work - Preparation and practice in independent laboratory exercises. Individual study and manuals and bibliography research.
