Objectives

Understanding Europe, in general terms, from the point of geological, geomorphological and climatic terms. Vegetation and soils: distribution and relationship with climate.

Describe the major regions that form Europe at the different levels under consideration. Systematise the regions that form the European space according to similarities and contrasts. 

Learning outcomes and competences

Knowing the physical conditions in which unfold the activities of Europeans.
Interpret the structural level (“longue-durée”) of organisation of the European space.

1 - Physical geography: geology, geomorphology and climate. Vegetation and soils, hydrology. Climatic variations during the Quaternary period.
