Objectives
Objectives
Endow the students with competences to:
- develop a multidisciplinary approach to study relationship between space, time, society, culture and environment
- increase skills for critical interpretation of historical sources
- analyse documents in order to the reconstruction of past territories at local scale level
- develop experience of landscape reading in field study
Program
1. Theorical-practical principles. Natural environment, space and cultural landscape: a long term vision in South Europe.
2. Historic reading and landscape reconstitution. Textual, cartographic and iconographic sources (from 18th to 20th centuries)
3. Some examples of historic reading in coastal and mountain areas of Portugal. From documents to space scenic reading
4. Live landscape reading: field classes and field trips
