Communication and Management of Creative Industries

The Master in Communication and Creative Industries Management is a master's degree accredited by the A3ES in the scientific area of ​​Communication Sciences. It takes 120 ECTS to obtain the Master.
The MSc provides advanced training in areas related to Communication and Creative Industries Management, aimed at those who wish to pursue a professional career as an executive, entrepreneur or researcher in this area. Among the main objectives, the following stand out: It has the following objectives.
 
  • To provide postgraduate training in Communication and Creative Industries, to a design which combines the teaching/ learning contents taught with a section that is designed to provide students with professional tools, as well as theoretical and practical experience, always in the interdisciplinary field of Communication Sciences and Management Sciences;
  • To promote the practice of research in Communication and Creative Industries, encouraging student autonomy in their academic career;
  • To prepare professionals with a solid understanding that enhances value creation in creative and cultural industries and products;
  • To raise awareness of the importance of intellectual property as a strategic asset of organizations, content production and creative brands;
  • Identify and analyze critical success factors in the creative sector, particularly in terms of communication strategies, media strategies, marketing, business models, entrepreneurship and development projects.

Professional Abilities

The Master in Communication and Creative Industries Management was structured in such a way as to promote the acquisition of the following skills:
  • Obtain a solid theoretical background in the fields of Communication Sciences applied to the transversal field of Creative Industries;
  • Produce creative Dissertations, Internship Reports and Projects anchored in contemporary discussions and practices of their field of study;
  • Be able to lead fundamental and applied research programs, either in their area of expertise, and in the interface between Communication Sciences and Creative Industries;
  • Obtain skills for scientific communication and the practice of professions in the framework of the Communication Sciences and Creative Industries;
  • May play consultancy roles in institutions, businesses and other public and private organizations in the areas of Communication Sciences and Creative Industries;
  • Acquire scientific, technical and relational that enhances an entrepreneurial attitude in the creation of business and creative projects that contribute to regional and national development in a global context.

  Access Requirements - Students who meet one of the following conditions may apply for the Master's program:
  1. First degree of studies or legal equivalent; in the fields of Communication Sciences, Information Science, Philosophy, Management, Economics, and related fields of Humanities and Social;
  2. Foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State that has adhered to this Process (in the areas referred to in );
  3. Foreign academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a teaching certificate by the statutorily competent body of FLUP;
  4. Of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Committee as evidence of ability to complete this course.
  Official length of programme: two academic semesters, followed by a year dedicated to the elaboration of a Dissertation, an Internship or the accomplishment of a Project
