Objectives
Students should acquire knowledge in the areas of work of a hospital pharmacist, namely:
- Know the functions of the Hospital Pharmacist
- Know the structure and management of a hospital and the committees that operate within it.
- Know the specific legislation that regulates the practice of hospital pharmacy.
- Knowing the processes for selecting and purchasing medicines in hospital pharmacy.
- Knowing the role of the hospital pharmacist in the process of distributing medicines to hospitalized patients, patients receiving home care, or outpatients.
- Understand the role of the hospital pharmacist in the production and quality control of compounded medicines (sterile and non-sterile forms) and intravenous mixtures for artificial nutrition and in radiopharmacy.
- Understand the role of the hospital pharmacist in clinical areas (clinical pharmacy, pharmacokinetics, clinical toxicology, and clinical trials).
Learning outcomes and competences
Students must know how to apply the knowledge acquired to the professional context of the Hospital Pharmacist.
