Objectives

The objective of this curricular unit is to promote students' development of advanced skills in one of the innovative and fundamental areas for the development of their thesis topic, and that has not been adequately covered by another curricular unit or their basic training.

Learning outcomes and competences

Given the specificity of each thesis topic, this UC has a tutorial nature and is conducted in a way to complement the training of each student in specific areas of Occupational Safety and Health, more properly, of their work theme. The student through this methodology is conquering his knowledge as quickly as possible autonomously.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The evaluation will focus on the elaboration of a scientific article on a topic selected by the student, related, preferably, to the theme of the doctoral thesis.

From the selected topic, the student should carry out a systematic review of the studies published in specialised journals using, for this purpose, the PRISMA methodology.

Eligibility for exams

-Submit a Protocol according to PRISMA P (The review protocol only has to be prepared if the article is publishable, mainly in a health journal);
-Present the results in the form of a scientific article for publication if it meets the criteria defined by the UC teaching team;
-Present an oral communication with the results of the systematic review according to the PRISMA Methodology.

Calculation formula of final grade

Possible publication in a journal, with minor changes - grade equal to or greater than 18 values (it implies the presentation of the review protocol);

Article publishable be subject to further reworking - Rating less than or equal to 17 values;

Not publishable article - Rating equal to or lower than 14.
