Within the various objectives highlight the ability to understand a systematic field of study and scientific skills, research skills and methods associated with a scientific field.

A report on the state of the art has to be written and a bibliographic research on the theme of the chosen PhD has to be carried out. A preliminary plan on the thesis has to be presented.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE SYLLABUS COHERENCE WITH THE CURRICULAR UNIT'S OBJECTIVES:

Intensive reading articles and writing a document which should be presented a survey of state of the art, the description of the problem (s) (s) to be solved, possible techniques or methodologies to resolve this problem (s), a estimate of the results to be obtained and scientific methods that will be used to obtain these results.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching involves sessions with theoretical presentations and discussions. The student grading will be based on a report assignment and a written exam if necessary.
