Objectives
Consolidation of programming skills
Study and application of modeling and simulation methods and techniques
Program
1. Acquisition of technical knowledge: advanced engineering knowledge in the area of computer and software techniques; use of CDF package programs to design and simulate relevant operation of chemical engineering.
2. Consolidation of personal and professional skills: identification and formulation of problems; modelling; solution and recommendation; definitions and systems interaction; resolution balance; initiative; creative and critical reasoning; career planning; to be updated in the engineering world.
3. Consolidation of interpersonal skills; teamwork and communication: strategy and structure of communication; written and graphic communication; oral presentation (in Portuguese and in English).
4. Acquisition of different skills: conceiving, designing, implementing and operating systems in the enterprise and societal context: impact of engineering in the society; historical and societal context; contemporary values; technical entrepreneurship; process of designing.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Classes will be based on the presentation of the theoretical themes of the course unit, and on problem solving.
Software
ANSYS CFD-Post
Microsoft Office (Excel+VBA)
ANSYS Workbench
ANSYS FLUENT
Evaluation Type
Distributed evaluation without final exam
Eligibility for exams
To be admitted to exams, students have to attend classes.
Calculation formula of final grade
Evaluation components:
- Group Project VBA (P_VBA)
- Individual Project CFD (P_CFD)
- Individual Test CFD/VBA (T)
CF = 0,25 * P_VBA + 0,25 *P_CFD + 0,50 * T
