Objectives

The themes taught in this course are seen as an engineering tool/ language. Therefore, it is expected that the student will be able to understand and correctly use the basic mathematical concepts and procedures. This course, as well as Mathematical Analysis I, is focused on the understanding and exercise of an extremely operational, compact and synthetic language, necessary for the (mathematical) development of fundamental concepts and themes on other courses of the degree. In that sense, it aims to provide the student with a knowledge basis which may help on the understanding of different specific contents of the undergraduate degree.
