Objectives

This course aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of digital audio and video, compressed digital technologies used in television, TV diffusion and distribution networks, technologies of TV production, concepts of interactive TV and HDTV.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Classes will be based on the presentation and demonstration of technology.
Laboratory classes will be based on practical assignments, so that students can apply and deepen their knowledge.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Eligibility for exams

Students have to reach a minimum mark of 40% in the assignments and attend to classes, to be admitted to exams.
Students have to reach a minimum mark of 30% in the exam, to complete the course.

Calculation formula of final grade

(1,5/20) * Class attendance+ (8,5/20) * average mark of the assignments+ (10/20) * Exam

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students have to do two laboratory assignments identical to the ones done by ordinary students.
