Objectives

To transmit the basic concepts on heat transfer introducing the mechanisms of molecular (conduction and convection) and radiation heat transfer.
A short reference to heat transfer with change phase and a general overview of heat exchangers is to be presented.

Program

Heat Conduction: Fourier's Law, Monodimmensional Conduction, Fins; Convection: Energy Equation, Internal and External Flows, Free Convection;Phase Change Heat Transfer: Condensation, Boiling; Heat Exchangers.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The programme is developped in around 24 'ex cathedra' sessions of 50 minutes each. Tutorial sessions of an equivalente number of hours are devoted to discussion of questions and solving of problems in parallel with the theoretical exposition.
